Aunt Edie came. She said that she had my great-grandfather’s wedding trousers in her possession. She said she would bring them the next time she came, & I was to take & offer them to the Aylesbury museum, & if they didn’t want them, then I could have them for my museum.

Aunt Edie came, & brought for my my great-grandfathers knee-breeches.

War.

I greatly deplore
the use of war,
It makes me sore
To the very core.

I still abhor
the use of war.
In days of yore
there was no roar
of guns of every bore.

If neither the Emperor
of old Japan, nor
Nazi Hitler adore
peace; before
out of their stupor.
Soldier & sailor
Will spill their gore
Right over the floor.

This morning got letter from V. & Albert museum saying they had received breeches.  Sanders sent some more approvals.

Mother left early morning to catch bus to go to Wycombe to meet Aunt Edie, & go to Rothsham for night.  Mr. Yates at School, a man (former headmaster of Amersham) gave talk during last period to seniors (boys & girls) about the Youth’s Hostels [Bus], Seems good.   I think I shall try and join it if possible.
