Florence Tapping ~ page 6

Florence Ethel Tapping (1891 – 1986)

Written by Mark Tapping

Frank and Flo made their penultimate move to an house in High Street, Aylesbury where Frank worked for North and Randall Ltd.  But it was only a few years later that they made their last move, this time to Nyetimber, near Bognor Regis and next door to Edie Montague, Flo’s sister.  Here they lived very happily: Frank refused to take life easily and worked for a market garden where he bicycled every work day.  They were visited from time to time by their children and also numbers of grandchildren until 1963 when Frank died in hospital in Chichester.  Widowed Warren then came to live with Flo and to look after her as she became frail.  When aged 96 years, in 1986, she also had to be hospitalised in St. Richard’s Hospital in Chichester and soon died.

So passed a much admired and loved gentle lady, a lady who could face and overcome adversity and yet do all that she could for her family.
